The Classic Giant Schnauzer breeding program strives for intelligence, temperament, health, athletic ability, working drives and sound structure.

Breeding stock is OFA certified Excellent or Good, CERF and Thyroid normal.  Most hold AKC and/or FCI obedience titles, endurance titles, some AKC championships as well as FCI  V ( Excellent ) or SG ( Very Good) conformation ratings.

Classic Giant Schnauzers produce only the highest quality canine. All
 puppies have sound structure, confident temperament and excellent health.

The distinction made between labeling a Classic Giant a 'pet' or 'show/working' dog is done with the aide of the Puppy Aptitude Test.
This method used for determining the right puppy for the right home is by Jack & Wendy Volhard found at http://www.volhard.com/puppy/pat.htm

This test is performed when the puppy is 7-8 weeks of age.  The dog receives a score from 10 categories of testing.  This score gives the breeder insight into the levels of prey, pack and fight & flight drives. 

A working prospect may possess the most prey and fight drives, the pet prospect may have less fight drive, an obedience/agility prospect may have more prey drive. All puppies should have a good balance of these traits.
The P.A.T. assists the breeder in placing the puppy in a home considering the owners ideas of the role the dog will play in their life. 

Classic Giant Schnauzers are placed into to many different homes including Police K-9 - one from the I litter is newly located to a California K-9 Unit, Classic Lugar vd Troy, K-9, Narc. Det. located in Wisconsin, another in Atlanta; Search and Rescue – one in Florida and one in S.C.;  AKC agility; obedience and Schutzhund sport.  Many, many go to those looking for a quality companion dog/family pet.

All of my females whelp in my kitchen, all puppies live in my home until they are placed.   They are socialized from birth and receive constant care and attention, daily exercise as well as the best food and vitamins available.
