The AD tests a dog's endurance, conditioning and physical structure.  This test must be passed as part of the 'Breed Survey' or Korung which is the official title
for dogs of breeding quality. This includes certification the dog is free of hip dysplasia, has been awarded an official rating of V (excellent) or SG (very good) in conformation competition, holds a  Schutzhund title and has passed a temperament and courage test.

During the test the dog must trot next to the handler, who is riding a bicycle for a total of 20 km (12.5 miles) at a pace of 12 - 15 km/ hour (7.7 - 9.5 mph). There are 2 - 15 minute breaks when the judge evaluates each dog for tender or worn foot pads, overall fatigue or poor condition.  The end of the test concludes with a short obedience routine.  The training and conditioning for this test begins 6-8 weeks prior to the trial.
